I live in a suburb of Columbus Ohio . I started drawing in high school using graphite. I took classes in school as well as adult education classes in the evening. I switched to colored pencil and pastel in 2003. I have been using pastel since 2003, and have currently taken Colored pencil back up again. I am enjoying using both the mediums in new ways.
I am a member and former treasurer of the Community Artisis of Westerville, and served as its president in winter of 2007-2008, Past Secretary of, and current member of OPAL, (The Ohio Pastel Artists League) and am a member of the Arts Council of Westerville .
I have had my artwork at Gallery 202 in Westerville Ohio, and Serindip Gallery in Powell Ohio. Also around surrounding cities, Newark, Gahanna, Alexandrea, and The Butler Art Institute in Youngstown Ohio. I have been in several Westerville Art league shows,a few in Worthington, Ohio State University, and the Ohio State Fair. I have displayed my art in several places around Columbus and Delaware for small shows. I have participated in numerous Art festivals and farmers markets in Westerville and Worthington Ohio.
"Kathryn's paintings capture the spirit of whatever she is portraying--whether it be a bird, or chimpanzee, or flower, her use of color and form carry the presence onto the page and into your heart."

"Kathy is an excellent artist. She has done a portrait of our very special dog that hangs in our hallway. She has also done several pictures of animals that we have enjoyed. She is very committed to doing her best when she draws people's animals. Having seen most of her work, I have to say that she is a very talented and professional artist."

"Kathryns Artwork is Beautiful. We have watched her develop into the celebrated artist she is. We have several of her bigger prints and I always have several boxes of her note cards around for quick notes to friends and family."

"He was so happy with that picture. Thanks so much for the time you put into it. He said too, it was like he could reach out and pet him. The attention to detail on Alex was wonderful. He appreciated the little tufts of fur that came out of his paws, and of course the little "beauty marks" on his face." - Tina miller

Comment from a very satisfied costomer:
"First, they are about the sweetest family you could ever imagine. And we are blessed to have them watching our girls while we work. Seriously!
And I never feel like that check I write each payday is enough for their kindness.
A few months ago they list a dear member of their family, their dog, Gus. He grew up along side of the kids. So when he passed they were all devastated.
It hit me…one small thing I could do to show them what they mean to us. I emailed our dear friend Kathy. Yeah. She is pretty amazing in her own right. Her artwork is it of this world!
I asked her to do a piece of artwork featuring Gus and in the background would be their play ground and woods.
With a little help I was able to sneak out two pictures of Gus and I took a picture of the backyard. Scanned them and sent them to Kathy. This is what I received over the weekend.
Is that amazing or what?!? And from 3 scanned photos in an email! Thank you Kathy, thank you! I am indebted to you.
So I got everything wrapped up. Took it to them today when I picked up the girls. And I told them to open it later…together.
This is the text I just received…"
